Roll-out of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and other HIV health services should allow every person living with HIV live a normal healthy lifespan. But are the gains made in HIV care, threatened by non-communicable diseases (NCDs)? NCDs such as cardiovascular diseases (heart disease and stroke), cancers, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, mental health, alzheimer, among others, cause over 70% of deaths worldwide. This session aims to examine and present how NCDs impact people living with HIV and possible best practices in synergies (or lack of) between AIDS and NCDs programmes.

People living with HIV but dying of NCDs (78 months left to reduce NCDs by 25% by 2025)
