It is urgent to have a debate that discusses how can parliamentarians lead the debate and advocate on Global Health issues and how can the global partnerships for the elimination of HIV/AIDS do not face a deceleration.  in a time where the money to prevent and treat people who suffer from HIV/AIDS is not the same as it was before, a clear and strong political message should be passed stating that the people living with HIV are not forgotten nor they are left behind.
Members of Parliament are an important actor as they are at the interface between Government and people and because parliamentarians are the ones who approve national health budgets, change laws and influence policies. They also have the power, as representatives of their constituencies, hold Governments and multilateral organisations accountable.
