Ending stigma and discrimination is key to achieving HIV epidemic control. This forum will include results of a recent programmatic assessment of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)-funded activities addressing HIV-related stigma and discrimination. Implementers receiving PEPFAR funding reported on their activities related to HIV stigma and discrimination, including work with populations most vulnerable to stigma and discrimination such as people living with HIV and key populations. Panelists representing PEPFAR-funded U.S. Government agencies will highlight success stories and best practices related to combatting stigma and discrimination, as well as remaining gaps. UNAIDS, Global Fund and the U.S. National Institutes of Health will also join in our discussion, speaking to their efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination. Panelists will engage audience members regarding translating best practices in PEPFAR and partners programming to eliminate stigma and discrimination in order to achieve the goal of epidemic control.
